From r/propagandaposters “Ulster’ – Soviet poster, 1973, showing a British soldier in a pound-sign helmet trying to hold onto Ulster. I ran the Russian text through 2 different translations apps which gave quite different results.

The soviets had little shame colonising places like the Baltics (and shipping all the local educated people off to die in Siberian work camps). Their anti-imperialism propaganda always makes me laugh. Kind of takes away from the valid message.

Won’t be subdued
People of Ulster
have it worse day by day.
They attempt to tie them down,
showing off a conservative demeanor…
They, tied up,
still attempt to
fight for their
civil rights.

How incredibly ironic considering the entire soviet history.
