Some while ago there were two posts about the blood shortage in Switzerland. Now it looks better. I’m at a donation appointment right now and it is so full. The nurse said there are way more people than expected. So, thanks to all of you ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

  1. So, I put a caption under the pictures, that explains my reasoning of posting it.

Thank you nice ppl of the Internet for donating blood, that the shortage is not sooo bad 😉

  2. I wanted to, for the first time, overcoming my fear of needles and blood.. But I’m taking some meds that are on the banned list
    😕

  3. I think there were more than two posts.

But yes, it did work. I finally registered and donated this month. 249 more times and I’ll get that knife set.

  4. Yup I saw it after receiving a letter thanking me for my blood.
Its incredible how my blood donation of O+ got the jar half-full.
No need to thank me, in 3 months I will be there again to make it full.

  5. In just few days Confederation took my blood twice: the first one, paying taxes, the second one donating my fare share of blood 😀

  6. Again: note that this varies greatly by region. Also, the shelf live of blood isn’t exactly great.

So don’t think that just because ot says “normal” for your blood group your donation is no longer required. At the very least check the local status (most local blood donation websites show this info, but not all).

  7. Surprised! One would expect the levels to be way lower after all those blood sucking vampires attending WEF.

    (honestly, good news!)

  8. I wonder if they write normal and nothing fuller not to prevent people from donating because “oh they got plenty, don’t need it”.

  9. I’ve got some high quality O- here to share, where do I give blood and how much will they pay me per liter?

  10. Used to donate. Now I kinda figured out I’m not straight. (Asexual) they won’t allow me to donate because of risk of STD’s. /Shrug/

  11. I have a super rare blood type, but because I’ve lived in the U.K. I can’t donate. I understand the reasoning, but it makes me sad I can’t participate. Well done everyone else for getting involved though… top stuff!

  12. I remember people who had undergone chemotherapy or cancer medication were unable to donate. But I couldn’t find it in the FAQ on the website. Is my information wrong?

  13. I gave my blood a few weeks ago (I think I went the 30 December). That day they send a text to every single person who was registered at that hospital to go give blood.

It worked so well that I was there for like 2h xDD
