How does TV work in Germany?

I tried plugging my tv with an antenna cable to the socket in the wall, but I get no signal.

I am sure I am missing something, but I found no resources on the internet if not getting an indoors antenna (which I think does not address my issue).

  1. You plugged into the multimedia socket. You need to use one of the other two. One is radio one is tv.

  2. that socket is most probably not the building’s antenna but for cable tv.

    If you want to use that you need a cable TV contract first.

    If you want to watch TV via antenna then your TV should either hav an internal DVBT2 antenna or you need to buy one for ~€10 and plug it into your TV.
