I will have a 4 hours transfer stop in Prague next weekend and want to try a czech beer during that time because I found this article about the best Czech beers: [https://www.thewalkingparrot.com/post/best-czech-beers](https://www.thewalkingparrot.com/post/best-czech-beers)
But I can’t try all of them sooo what do you say, which one is the best?

Pilsner
Bernard, Unetice
Prokop 12° jantar – Chyše brewery
from commercial breweries (whose beer is available in most shops) I recommend Radegast beer – “ryze hořká 12°” (purely bitter)
Which Czech beer is the best?
Yes.

Falkon
Unetice, Cestmir, Sibeeria, Chroust, Radegast
Pilsner, Kozel, Matuška, Krakonoš, Chříč
Staropramen apparently has a new recipe and it’s not that disappointing anymore and Budvar 33 is also pretty decent.
The beers listed there are definitely not the best ones — they are the most widely sold ones (often because they are cheap). For example, Starobrno and Gambrinus are both beers many Czech people make fun of for being rather water.
Pilsner Urquell is a good one I’d say. However, you can buy it in many countries outside of CZ so you may not find it that exclusive.
If you wanna try some of the really good brews that you find almost exclusively in CZ, try some of the not so widely sold ones. For example Clock or Zichovec never disappoint 🙂
There is a great app called Untappd where you can find a rating of basically any beer that exists simply by scanning its barcode or typing the name 😉
Hope that helps.
Pilsner Urquell, Radegast, Svijany
Radegast
Pilsner, Kozel, Radegast is imho holy trinity. If you are lucky enough you will find Zhůřák
Krušovice 11
Every beer in plastic bottle.
For big brands, Svijany, Radegast or Budvar are very good, and you can get these almost everywhere. I wouldn’t really recommend Braník, Staropramen or Starobrno. Pilsner Urquell is fine, it’s probably the most famous one, but I think those first ones I mentioned are still better, while being less expensive at the same time.
However, I would recommend trying out some craft beers if you plan to visit some big stores like Albert or Kaufland, since these usually have a dedicated fridge for local craft beers. You will pay significantly more, but I think it’s really worth it if quality is what you are after. Almost every single one of them I had were amazing and worth the money.
If you have only 4 hours in Prague the i would opt for [U Fleků](https://youtu.be/R-3IByZ1F3o?t=1360) – yes its tourist trap, but at the same tíime its the real thing – great dark beer brewed in the old style in the oldest brew pub (sice 1499).
Other good options among bigger breweries are Primátor and Bernard.
if youre near the main train station then go to Demínka for Pilsner Urquell
Zichovec
It’s not just the beer per se, also where it comes from (can, bottle, keg, tank etc)
My “perfect” beer is a Pilsener Urquell from tank – you get it for example in places like “Kantyna” – which is close to the train station and also has excellent food in a unique atmosphere.
Svijany, i like Baron the most.
Zichovec – Juicy Lucy 15°
From the mainstream beers it’s Radegast and it’s not even a competition.
Svijany Rytíř and Radegast Ratar. From a new foreigner Prague. But most lagers are quite good, I hardly drink ipas now.
Near the train station there is červený jelen, you can try pilsner specilay tapped like they mention in your artickle
Also here is video https://youtu.be/BuU_lMAIwbQ
Pazdrát from Chříč. Zhůřák is also good. And Žatec unfiltered.
The variety of brands and tastes is huge. I would, above all, recommend to try beer from the small regional breweries.
