Same reason Boris went all in for helping Ukraine, it’s to hide their true allegiance, they’ve been bought and paid for by Russian cash, it’s the same money they illegally used to buy the Brexit votes.
You generally can’t answer this effectively without being branded a “Putin supporter” (despite despising the man and his evils), by people who, often unwittingly, are taking the same line as Putin supporters.
