Haven’t had a Vienetta in over two decades, looks like HB are still using the same picture! Used to be an effort to cut off a slice with all the layers!

You don’t have a Vienetta Dremel?
Jaysus… mate, you got done.
Where’d you get it? None of the shops near me sell it anymore.
When I flew the coop I celebrated by eating an entire Vienetta log, only because the mother wasn’t there in my gaff to judge me. Explosive trots made me regret my action & gave me an understanding of how much sugar was in it. I’ve never wanted it since.
Still the fanciest poshest desert one can have known to mankind
I was watching a program on the ‘Ice Cream wars’ where HB were trying to get a competitive advantage over, I think Walls, without actually spending much extra on the product. They tried making a dessert with thin layers of chocolate & ice-cream but it wasn’t very appealing. One of the production machines had a glitch and was feeding the ice-cream layer too fast and it piled up in a ripple effect. Some smart person on the ground saw this as a feature rather than something to be fixed and the Vienetta was born, and ruled the market for decades.
The easiest way to cut it is put the knife in hot water fir about a minute then cut it. It does a good job.
in the 80s, It used to have a little tray that was part of the manufacturing process, it had tiny little upturned edges, and when you went to cut it, the tray would stop the knife.
I doubt that’s still part of the modern one, but my wife loathes them and we aren’t allowed them in the house. She loves romantica though.
