  1. It’s Interesting how you see the clear hierarchy of individuals within this picture. King Emperor George V (indisputably the most powerful man in the world at the time) situated at the centre of the picture with the largest thrown, flanked by the lesser royal families of Europe.

  2. *”Nine for mortal men doomed to die, One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne; In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie”*

  3. The Nine Sovereigns at Windsor for the funeral of King Edward VII, photographed on 20 May 1910. Standing, from left to right: King Haakon VII of Norway, Tsar Ferdinand of the Bulgarians, King Manuel II of Portugal and the Algarve, Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany and Prussia, King George I of the Hellenes and King Albert I of the Belgians. Seated, from left to right: King Alfonso XIII of Spain, King George V of the United Kingdom and King Frederick VIII of Denmark.

  4. The first thing that stands out to me is the way Nicolas is sitting. He crosses his legs the same way Stalin did in his photo with FDR and Churchill.

  5. My grandfather would have been a subject under one of these Monarchs, then my country became a republic in the many that were created in the post-WW1 period.
