Guess who’s back

  1. Nothing screams “Renouveau” more than clinging to someone who represents your glorious past.

Let’s see how long he stays if they don’t get into the government.

  2. Hunn en de Moien um 100,7 gelauschtert. Fir mech ass onvirstellbar wéi eng CSV esou e Mann nach kann mat an de Wahlkampf huelen. An nach vill méi onvirstellbar ass fir mech wéi eng CSJ, déi jo eigentlech misst erféiert sinn dat elo erëm sou e Fossil ausgegruewen gëtt, an en Elisabeth Margue, dat vun der Partei eigentlech schonn ënnert de Won geheit gouf, dat doten lo mat vollem Asaz feiert!

  3. I agree that it screams “failed renouveau” but basing arguments against him on the fact that he held well-paying positions in finance afterwards is a ridiculous argument. Fayot was an Elvinger partner as well so what?

The CSV under Juncker and him made this country an economic power house while practicing fiscal constraint as opposed to our current debt addicts.

Also let’s be honest who was their alternative. Wiseler already failed and there is literally no other profile they managed to shape as a charismatic new “leader”. At least with Frieden they can attack Bettel on his home turf in the capital.

I have no problem admitting it that chances are not small he gets my vote as I am thirsting for a somewhat viable alternative to the green leftism that is currently in place.

  4. To be fair, he participated in the governments that made Luxembourg what it was 10 years ago.
The Bettel administrations did some good but also fucked up. I thi nk we need some of the old guard to help thr young ones. Especially since more and more politicians have little to no experience…

  5. He was Junckers “Man” so a lot of Luxembourgers will probably vote for him since he represents a “better” time.

At the same time, it wasn’t Frieden who was the main candidate, it was Juncker.

Idk what will happen, but even I would rather vote for Frieden than for Bettel.

But then again, I won’t vote for any of them.
