900 a week? Could he not get a hotel room? I know it’s not great but it’s a temporary solution while you find somewhere more permanent
There’s something not adding up here. Many people are on far less and can pay rent.
Maybe he needs to move to outside limerick and commute in or something?

Either gambling or drug addiction or he has a mental illness.. there’s no way you need to sleep rough if earning 900 a week

I know of a fella on €2000/week in Limerick that can’t find accommodation. If you aren’t Irish, well spoken and coming with references from previous landlords, you aren’t getting accommodation.
Edit: just to clarify, he sleeps in a hotel about an hour from Limerick and commutes everyday, costing him almost €1000/week

This is b*llox. I live in Dublin and earn around the same. Sharing a house with 2 or 3 others would cost him like €700 a month. If you’re sleeping rough while there’s a room going for €700 a month while earning €900 a week, then something is very very wrong with your money management or you’re choosing to sleep rough.
Not saying I agree with having to pay €700 a month rent to share a house either. But come on.

I can’t believe the comments here, there is nowhere to rent in Limerick, even house shares. Every ad you see on daft has at least 50+ applicants , it’s extremely believable he can’t find somewhere. I’ve friends living at home that have been trying to find a place for six months or more , if the guy doesn’t have a family member to put him up it’s either hotels or this situation unfortunately…
Yeah I’m sorry but if you are earning 900 per week or 3600pm you absolutely have the means to not be sleeping in doorways. Go on cry about the prices of accommodation but this is a choice not a last resort.
At the very least you could buy a van and sleep in the back of it on those wages, it would be better than sleeping in a doorway. I’d say this story is a load of shite.
