Hi guys! I had recently moved to Odense and found this in my room. What is that? I looks like a power outlet with a UTP cable stuck in it.

old telephone outlet with an out of date internet plugin
DSL connection and landline phone outlet.
It’s a Phone outlet for landline phones.
Ah I miss my old Danmark 1 telephone after seeing that plug.
This question make me feel old 🥲
Once upon a time, phones required wires, which would be plugged into the wall (The wire, not the phone). The wall plug looks like the top connector.
The bottom connector can be used to plug in a modem or DSL connection. A modem is an ancient device used to convert sound into data and a DSL connection is the digital version of that. Basically really slow WiFi in a wire.
Join me next week, where we walk about how bicycles used to not run on batteries!
Top socket is the landline telephone
The wire below is the NSA, Mossad and Danish Intelligence secretly tapping your phone.
