Putting Geneva and Valais into one region seems to be a weird decision though.
What is there to agree or disagree with. This is just a map visualizing the statistics.
Not really. You have some odd clusters, where you split of the Wallis from the Geneva Region and make an additioal smaller cluster for the nord-west and nord-east. I think thos would help to give an overview on this topic.
Zurich better than everywhere else? Solid. Must be true then
There’s nothing to agree or disagree. You might find the regions a bit strange because we’re used to dividing CH in cantons, but these regions are those of the Swiss Statistical Office, made for economic and cultural reasons. By the way, the colour contrast makes the difference very noticeable, but the actual numbers are not that different.
Does eastern Switzerland even exist?
we agree yes, it is statistics
It feels like the nuance is in the amount of tech in one’s home rather than an index of development…
Yeah this is correct. I live by at Gallen and It’s basically a third world country
Edit: to clarify this is sarcasm
I can only say that this graph is NUTS
>Very High human development
>Zürich
ok.
I disagree with your question.
Coming from the eastern region, but also not, since I’m from Grisons, of course I agree. 😉
The interesting discussion would rather be how accurate this HDI is applied to Switzerland and the regions, because I hardly doubt it regards the mobility of people, e.g. I’m in Zurich faster than in >50% of places of my Canton. Life doesn’t draw lines and borders the way a database with an entry for canton does…
Where is Olten?
The only thing I disagree with is “Lake Geneva”
With HDI, when you’re talking about variations of like 0.1, 0.2 when you’re at 9+, the impact is… negligible. Everyone has an insane level of HDI in Switzerland, and a few areas have a slightly more insane level.
How do you ‘agree’ with data?
Lucerne and Zug would be equal to Zürich imo but yeah that’s just a very generalized graph of a statistic, nothing to disagree or agree
I love maps like this, though I think it needs to be more divided… By cantons would be enough.

This isn’t an opinion thing.
