While I was actually being sarcastic, I did look into this and the article is wrong, the law just gives these people the same rights as anyone has against hate speech, you can still say whatever you want in your house without anyone spying on you. This pretty much changes nothing unless you go around outside spewing hateful shit about trans people.
Trans was added as a protected group to the already existing hate speech law. As for the “private homes” part, you can say whatever you want in private in your own home. You cannot say whatever you want to a member of one of these protected groups in your own home.

The basics of the hate speech have not substantially changed since 2005, they did recently add gender identity to the enumerated list of “protected classes”, but it was not some special new “transgender protection law”.
Technically any threat or hateful speech directed at a person in a protected group “in the presence of others” could include doing so at a gathering in your own home if such a person was present I suppose. Kinda hard to prove unless it was recorded or several of the people present reported it and testify against you though.
In other words, just what we come to expect from rightwingnuts.
They simply updated the language of the law a bit, but in practice it is the same as the old one.
No, and the reason is that the law only affect «public places» or «in front of others say if directly to who you are talking about».
And «hatefull speach» means that you have to say something bad that «the general public» will rule hatefull. It is not about what the victim feels about what you said, it have to be judged by other natural people.
And it have to be directed to a specific person or persons. You can say that you hate gays, christians, muslims, trans-genders i general. That is not what this law covers. It covers spesific treaths og hatefull spesch to specific individuals based in theire religion, etnisity, gender and so on.
