I’m convinced half the time the real reason is they just don’t have staff and make up any random reason to give the general public
Could be graffiti over the driver’s window or key sensors / cameras, to be fair.
OP – breathing in paint fumes in an enclosed space isnt usually recommended. Better safe than sorry.
One time I was on the train and a whole group of youngfellas got on, blocked the doors with rocks, and did a huge graffiti thing on the sides of the carriages.
I initially thought they were swarming to rob us so I was pretty relieved tbh.
They threw stones at the driver when he came down to shoo them off which wasn’t cool.
Anyway they did their whole art thing and then fled in less than five minutes.
We truly have an exceptionally piss poor Transport system. It should win awards for how abysmal it is
If a train is tag bombed while in service, normally it’s taken out of service straight away and cleaned. I think the idea behind it is not to promote or advertise the people that do it.
Last time I was in Denmark i noticed that not a lot of trains had graffiti on them. A friend of mine told me that people spraying graffiti get fined 20K – 30K (the cost of removing it), which seems to be a deterrent.
Doesn’t take much to get these overpriced trains to stop running.
Jet Set Radiooooooooo
Saw on that DART documentary that the chemicals they have to use to clean off this gee bag graffiti fucks up the window sealant. Poxy carry on.
It may have been a big mickey. Not suitable pre-watershed.
Somone drew a willy and the train was too shy to leave the station
Could be worse than you think.
I’m hoping it was something really bad, if they had to remove it ASAP. Like a giant Swastika.
They’re really keen to nip any train graffiti culture in the bud. Three foreign lads were caught running away after spraying a stationery carriage recently enough (maybe it’s a thing where they’re from and they were hoping to make it a thing here). The older lad, maybe 25, was given a fairly harsh sentence I thought, given that no one was hurt. The younger lads were given suspended sentences I think. Anyway, for whatever reason, management are death on ‘defacing’ the trains.
Someone graffitied something really mean about the train and the train had to take a breather.
Bound to happen……the writing was on the wall
Is Grift back
That’s hilarious got on a maynooth train before where my carriage was covered in spray paint even all the windows. They clearly don’t care for some trains.
me af
“Fellas, I know you all have jobs and families to get to, but there’s a Banksy over on the station that’s driving me up the bleeding wall”
graffiti on the wall? what did it say?
get out of work with this one simple trick.
Oh dear someone drew the S on the tracks, this will cause confusion and delay
Either it is really cool graffiti or really bad graffiti
Not stopping rather.
ok smartarse take this begrudging upvote
be writing for fair city soon enough
Or maybe the graffiti it’s that bad they need to get rid of it. As in racial slurs or some other sick shit no one needs to see.
That’s artly a valid reason to stop the train!
AD? 🤔 Nice that they took the time to date the graffiti before tweeting this out.
