Regardless of the quality how come you didn’t spot they were soft and squashy. Those housewives you see manhandling fruit & veg aren’t just doing it for a cheap thrill!
I bought sprouts in Aldi and my fridge smelled like I had dead bodies in it. Opened it the other morning and the whole kitchen smelled like the worst fart. Was heaving and all
They should put them in clear packing that way you could check them before you purchase
What’s that about 57cent worth?
>Soft, wet, smelly & rotten
I just found the title of my autobiography
That’s on you OP
Check your fresh produce before putting it the basket/trolley
I dont understand why would you be creating a post about this?
This happens, its a ‘fresh’ food, it can go off if single item there is off the rot will skip to the others as well. All you need is one employee to miss it, which is not all that hard when its at the bottom of a crate.
We are just a humans, and so are Lidl employees. Bring it back, they will allow you to get another bag of fresh ones instead without asking questions.
Pointless attempt for pitchforking. Have a downvote
Seriously, just bring it back, there will be no hassle replacing with a fresh bag of carrots. Posting on reddit will fix nothing.
Bring it back, and they’ll replace no problem. Lidl no longer put best before or sell by dates on fruit & and veg, so in future I guess check what you’re purchasing. 👀
Make sure you return them
Lidl carrots are a bit rubbish tbh. They go.bad very quickly, better to pay slightly more for greengrocer carrots that stay good longer.
Lidl and Aldi are terrible for fruit and veg in my experience. Not worth the money you save, I’d rather pay more and get better quality from Dunnes or Tesco.
Where’s your “Moaning Michael” flair?
I’ve started shopping in an actual fruit/veg shop in the English market in Cork. I know it’s not on everyone’s doorstep as an option, but it’s both cheaper and the range is phenomenally wider and better quality. Stuff there I’ve had to Google! I know you can get very expensive items in that market too, but the fruit/veg place is just on a whole other level of range.
It’s a minor bit of extra hassle but very definitely worth it.
So what? Sometimes you get bad fruit or veg, happens in all shops not just Lidl. Stop being such a snowflake
