Hi guys. Is there a way to find out if my application for renewing my residence permit was received by the MAEE ? I tried calling them but no one picked up.

Slight fear that my post didn’t reach them. I put them in one of these boxes which I haven’t seen around much. (p.S. I also posted it in one of those prepaid envelopes since that’s the only one I had at home)

  1. Send an email to immigration.public@mae.etat.lu. I sent an email and they got back to me within a week or so.

    If you do want to reach them by phone, be prepared to call repeatedly on multiple days until you get lucky. I’m convinced they just disconnect the phone line for like 60% of the day.

    Also, they will eventually send you a letter saying they have all your documents and they’re processing your request. But that can take a while. I sent my papers in early December and just got that letter last week.

  4. The MAE are swamped with renewals, new arrivals and refugees because they all get treated in the same place. Thousands and thousands of files and only a limited number of people to manage it. Your renewal will be sorted eventually.

    I submitted my documents last week to Luxembourg immigration and I have not received any response from them. It’s for Type D. As per the website, I followed all the rules. I am an expat living in GCC.

    Should I be worried?

    How long does it take to process a TAS?
