Can’t really compare S Africa to the UK. Great that the virulence appears to be lower compared to delta. But, the explosive spread of omicron means that it is better to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
so a clickbait article with quotes and no data or anything then….
The thing is, it isn’t the new variant that is of most concern. It’s that it’s coming in the winter peak on top of a Delta wave that we gave up trying to control, with persistently high infections which has stretched the NHS to its limit since July.
Without that context I’d be more inclined to listen to the hysteria comments, but the reality is it ignores the dire situation the NHS finds itself in right now.
