Sacked.
What a joke that is. He’ll still be an MP. It’s just a vanity thing for them.
He should be sacked away from anything to do with the public. He cannot be trusted.
Seriously, rishi would get a fair bit of credit if he just got ahead of the issue, got rid of zahawi and got rid of sharp and did it now. He’s not going to get any credit for doing it in 3 months time when the media have made the decision for him. I suppose the worry for him is if he pisses off a certain wing of the party, then he won’t be able to govern without calling a general election which he would definitely lose. They’re just all so incompetent in this version of the conservatives
Another chance for Sunak to prove he is not Johnson or Truss missed. He could have come down hard on Zahawi, it is not like he wants for money or anything, instead Sunak is happy to show how he will tolerate corruption like his predecessors.
Does it matter if he gets sacked or not if they don’t change the fundamental rules so this never happens. Another Tory MP will happily heat their stables for their horses and claim as expenses while the rest of the UK freeze their balls off. I don’t think things will ever change the only way is to burn their houses and go after these people and that’s the reality
What ever happened to doing the decent thing when caught out by a scandal. Todays MP’s really have no integrity. How any of them get people to vote for them, I will never understand.
One thing this has shown is, how politically weak Sunak is.
Its clear as day just how much corruption is happening within this government. What can we do about it? Its time for change, but how?
It wouldn’t have been so bad if he hadn’t threatend to sue The Independent for reporting what he knew to be the truth.
Why is it that there’s no framework to trigger a recall or election if an mp violates the rules like this automatically?
As surely you can’t be fit for public office if you violate the rules ?
Have Rishi or any of the Tories on TV saying they just don’t know anything considered asking Zahawi?
