How Rishi Sunak’s Treasury helped Putin ally sue Bellingcat’s Eliot Higgins

  1. In all the scandals and silliness, that laughable Russian report probably is the one they survived. We have actual Russian spies in the lords, controlling our media, running a propaganda news channel and secret agents carrying out assassinations. All the while the party in charge took huge sums of cash and helped out.

  2. No, this isn’t treason, before anyone says that.

It’s pretty dodgy, mind you, but it’s probably not illegal. The interesting thing to find out would be how many times similar things have been done in non-Russian cases, because if there’s a treasury department for it then it’s probably not that rare.

  3. >openDemocracy asked the government if ministers were made aware of the decision to grant Prigozhin a licence, but a spokesperson said they couldn’t comment on “individual cases”.

The usual get out that prevents any scrutiny or accountability.
