  1. Situation is so sad.

There are at least 100k deaths. Half of the buildings in these cities are gone. And the another half are injured. Interestingly(!) Hospitals and some government building are also destroyed. I am also homeless now. And at least I could save my wife and 4 month baby from the earthquake for now.

  2. This is so sad. I hope they will find more people alive from the collapsed buildings. It has been more than 50 hours and chances of finding people alive is getting lower. It is also sad that the people who are survived have most likely lost their loved ones and are homeless now.

  3. Each post I see breaks my heart into pieces. Those poor people who lost their relatives must be in a very dark place. The injured, and those who lost their home and are out in the cold. I pray for each and every one of them. I hope they find the courage to move on and hope for a better day.

  4. Please donate to the victims of the recent Turkey-Syria earthquakes. Thousands have been left homeless, many having lost their loved ones and some still under debris. For anyone willing to donate, any amount will be helpful for those suffering especially due to currency exchange rates. Please donate at https://ahbap.org/disasters-turkey .

Ahbap is the most reputable private charity that is now the most used organization for earthquake funds. If you cannot donate, please spread the word so that other people can. The funds are being used for food, shelter and various supplies for those who are displaced. Anyone who’s able to, PLEASE donate

For anyone who’s doubtful of the big organizations; Ayşe Baltacıoğlu-Brammer, a Turkish, history professor at NYU, has created a GoFundMe page on which she’s collecting donations for the families affected by the earthquake. She’s going to be providing these funds directly to the families in need. You can also donate via Zelle and PayPal, details of which are given on her Twitter account. https://twitter.com/brammerayse/status/1622619103851687938?s=46&t=yj_LESwKC_NGtz0G8bM2xw

  5. A budgie like that will most likely fly off and never return if it’s set free. It doesn’t have the sense of attachment to its habitat and owner that some larger species have.

So when this boy held him for 55 hours, that’s because it was likely the only thing he could do to avoid losing it. And seeing this picture, with no cage in sight, I hope they found a way to safely contain the poor bird, for the sake of (what’s left of) that boy’s mental health.
