I think I’ve seen more headlines about her DV 7 years ago than about the murders.
Not uncommon for victims of DV to end up arrested themselves. Police write so much off as six of one half a dozen of the other. My friend phoned the police because her husband broke an injunction and they ended up arresting her instead because she was shouting and angry. He’d abused her for 20 years including regular rapes but because she was ‘irrational’ the police pulled her in.
Given she was murdered by him, I’m gonna guess that maybe the police fingered the wrong party at the time. It’s uncommon for abusers to pin it all on the victim and I’m not trusting the word of someone who murdered their wife and child
If it’s not bad enough being murdered by your husband and having your young daughter killed, you now get the media dismantling your identity in front of the world.
Poor lady.
No one knows the full story, and there is the problem.
If she had shot her husband, it would probably be alleged that she’d been pushed to do it, or mental health was a possibility.
Does anyone really know what caused her husband to carry out such an horrific act?
Then:
*The independent secondary school was founded in 1853 to provide education for the children of poor members of the medical profession.*
And now:
*where full boarding pupils pay more than £42,000 a year.*

Seem like they’ve got stable people running them these private schools.
I wonder if the school would have hired a man with an arrest history for DV?
I was arrested after being SA and choked by my abuser because I scratched his face badly in self defence. Not all police understand IPV
A woman and her daughter were shot dead by their husband/father and judging by the comments here, Reddit MRA types are still trying to make this all about themselves
It’s sad that this is the conversation after a woman and her child has been murdered.
That said, it’s crazy the amount of times I read where a man has made a DV complaint, and the immediate response from readers is that the only reason a man would make such a complaint is when *he* is the abuser and is trying to cover his tracks.
Toxic masculinity is the only reason men don’t speak, though apparently…
Perhaps, no, definitely a stretch, but maybe he or other men wouldn’t go to such evil extremes if they felt they could actually speak about things and be believed, instead of knowing they’d be labelled the perpetrator if they do.
Imagine being a guy and calling the police…because your wife slapped you in the face. Utterly pathetic and basically a non-story.
Seems she may have been secretively violent and that was a contributing factor. Let that be a lesson to men – don’t put up with bad treatment from women and get out before you lose yourself.
They were obviously in a deeply unhappy marriage. Too bad the husband didn’t just get a divorce like a normal person.
I went to one of these elite public schools for 2 terms before I literally couldn’t take it anymore and left after a mental breakdown that effectively robbed me of my later teenage years
There are deeply rooted psychological issues in a lot of the staff of these schools, and frankly any private school career ladder focused teachers. They were treated badly by staff as they were educated and that becomes normalized across their entire life before passing it onto the next generation.
It is absolutely tragic what has occured to Emma and her family, the above does not excuse any actions taken, but I would steer clear of all of these public schools. They do not create well adjusted people in the vast majority of cases from my experience
