Can someone here tell me where the artist may have been standing when he created this engraving of Solothurn in 1737? Tags:switzerland 6 comments I collect old views of Switzerland and, as a hobby, recreate them as they are today. From west of the modern old town, by the Aare river. The Krummer Turm, seen across the river, is still there today. Most likely this was the view from the tower of [Aarhof](https://img.luzernerzeitung.ch/2020/10/6/bd753571-eaaf-40cc-9533-d4c0c67b303f.jpeg?width=1360&height=764&fit=bounds&quality=75&auto=webp&crop=3200,1798,x0,y21), which was built in 1610. I think it could be where todays santesuisse building in solothurn is located. https://schlossaarhof.ch To the west, north of the river. The Crooked Tower is visible on the right on the other side of the river, on the left is the Jura mountain chain to the north. The artist would be somewhere in the Obach area of Solothurn.
