True solidarity. The Spanish rescue team in Turkey: “People have stopped us on our way to give food. They won’t let us pay for breakfast or dessert. All the folks turned into emergency teams. Don’t forget – they are the real heroes.”

Turks, man. A proud, hospitable, dignified people. Still not going to pick up any dropped shoeshine brushes in Istanbul, but I’m so grateful to everyone volunteering there right now. I wish more people in the West would visit Turkey, especially the countryside, and see what a beautiful place it is.
Be strong, Turkyie. It is a horrible tragedy … but you’ll heal and get stronger 🙂
I♥️🇹🇷! The best man I met in my life is a Turk from Sinop.
Yet that imbecile would not order in the turkish army to help for such a disaster!
As long as beautiful people work together, there is always hope.
I know the terrible devastation caused by the earthquakes make it difficult to access, but on news reports I have not seen any soldiers or military equipment to help the poor citizens. May the thousands of deceased souls be at peace, my heart goes out to all those survivors who have lost love ones. Not forgetting those in Syria who also have suffered through this devastation and the ongoing civil war , hopefully aid is not blocked from helping them.
These people… We owe so much to them, none of us would have the heart to make them pay for food:)
One of the many things that made me cry today was the comment of a Greek user on TikTok in Turkish: “Güçlü kal komşu. Biz seni öyle bildik.” Meaning “Stay strong neighbor. We’ve known you like that.” You have no idea how much that single comment means to us…
