I wonder many of these recent dog attacks are a result of idiots getting dogs during lockdown, and then never actually giving the dog training etc. (aka, an influx of irresponsible owners)
Just a quick thought.
As usual the cry of my dog is friendly marks you as an idiot with a dog that isn’t trained.
No leads no harness no collars.
Don’t own a dog anymore but if that was my collie being attacked by any dog that can’t be quickly released they are getting killed.
> The 40-year-old said two dogs who “weren’t wearing any collars or harnesses”, approached Naevia.
> She claims their owner called out to her that they were ‘friendly’ but just moments later one of them was said to have launched at the husky.
I’m probably a bit paranoid ( because let’s face it there are probably very few attacks and millions of dogs) but with my last dog who didn’t have an aggressive bone in his body , I figured taking a sturdy walking stick was a sensible precaution just in case another dog attacked him. There are just too many stories of owners who not only have no control but actually think it’s funny if their dog is aggressive.
Idiots who let their dogs roam free with no collars and harnesses deserve jail time if their dogs attack. Shouting ‘he/she’s friendly’ is bloody ridiculous. Ah, no surprise at the breed of the vicious dogs.
How many more incidents are we going to get before people realise that what we need is a complete rethink of how we treat dogs in this country?
In this case it would be interesting to know the absolute truth.
Huskies I find are ultra aggressive, my little dog has been attacked 4 times in the park, each time by a husky type dog like the one in the article.
It may have been “innocently playing in the sea”, and equally it may not.
“was set upon by two bulldog-style pets”
Well that’s a surprise, said no one.
Any money they were pitbulls / similar.
Walking through a local park. Further ahead a dog went mental as a poodle went by, both thankfully on a leash. As I got closer sure enough it’s some kid of pit and the scrote owner is chatting to someone about how it hates wearing a muzzle…
Responsible owners would happily get a dog licence if one were required. It is such a simple step that would put off a lot of owners who would be too lazy to train their dogs, especially if they were held liable for dog attacks. Banning certain breeds won’t work in the long run, so it is time owners were held to a proper account.
Here we go again. That poor, poor dog sounds like it was being ripped apart. Shitty owners yes but a pug isn’t gonna be able to do that much damage or sustain a 10 min attack while injuring multiple people.
Licenses and rigorous testing of the dog should be required to own something capable of this much damage
I keep well away from any pit bull dogs now. Too many are owned by stupid young men who haven’t trained their dogs or themselves on how to act in public and I’m not letting myself, my family or my dogs get hurt or killed because some cunt can’t control or train his dogs.
Why the fuck does the owner not at least have a collar on the dogs?! Nevermind them being offlead. No chance to even grab them.
Absolutely horrific. If it was my greyhound being attacked, he’d be dead. I suspect these dogs will not be PTS because it’s a dog on dog attack, but I hope they’re kept on lead and muzzled in future. Too many dogs have behavioural issues at the moment, combined with stupid owners.
I’ve said it before, but these types of dogs always attract the least suitable owners.
You either get the chavvy tosser who gets one “cos its ‘ard, innit?”
Or, the Karen, who insists they’re “nanny dogs”
It feels like one per week right now.
The law needs updating to not only ban more breeds of dangerous dogs but to also add more responsibilities and consequences for dangerous owners.
Genuinely glad to see the go fund me raised all she needs. I hope that poor doggo recovers
This almost happened to me a couple weeks ago while walking my dogs. Came round a blind corner into a bulldog type mongrel and it’s two dipshit owners one Sunday – no collar, no harness, no leash in a residential area. Their dog ran straight up into my dogs face and started being aggressive. The dipshit owner had to jump on it and bear hug it until I left. I have since seen them out walking it again, still with no harness, leash or muzzle. Morons.
Another negative dog story. I stand by my theory. They’re gearing up to slap some sort of license on dog owners to claw back money because they spent it all giving money to their friends.
