  1. “She went to the emergency department of the local hospital and an X-ray revealed she had not suffered any bone damage. After the incident, she claimed she was forced to abandon swimming and badminton, two of her favourite hobbies, because of the pain.”

    ……….

“While costs were awarded in favour of Supermac’s after the plaintiff did not show up, Mr McDonagh said that in most cases defendants do not receive them, and described it as a “lose-lose situation”.”

“The fast-food chain now has an in-house solicitor working full-time on handling claims on behalf of the company.”

    …………

“These pillars of society – solicitors and insurers – are using the system to benefit themselves. That’s really what’s driving insurance premiums,” he said.”

  2. He’s dead right,
And the government are the worst for this.
I know personally of a case where there was malpractice in a hospital leading to a death of a 36 year old, the HSE dragged it for 6 long ass years, causing the family heartbreak after heartbreak, Delaying and dodging all the way, the more they dragged it, the more the case cost the family.
The family were 100% right but forced to beg/borrow for money to keep their solicitors & experts paid.

Only on the day did HSE admit liability. the absolute wankers, they thought they would win by default when the family could no longer pay to keep the legal battle going.

  3. Most Defendants/Insurers don’t deliver evidence until the week or so before a trial, if you’re lucky. Only in the High Court is there a clear procedure for exchanging reports, etc.

  4. This lad is a prick. Had ocassion to have dealings with him some years ago for work. He was arrogant and discourteous.

  5. Pillars of society are using the system to benefit themselves whinges the man that pays below minimum wage and cries that the government are only paying 40% of the increase in his energy bills. Fuck him the hungry bastard
