Almost every crisis has the same result: the poor end up poorer, the rich end up richer.
Oil&Gas corporations breaking records profiting of war and crisis, and the government and EU helping them by doing things like naming natural gas a “green energy”.
Cool, politicians will get a well paid job as advisors when they exit the government/EU parliament…
Of course, instead of more aggressively curbing demand, governments across the world spent billions on lowering the price to make sure consumers didn’t have to change their behavior too much.
All that money was an indirect subsidy for the fossil fuel industry. I don’t know why people are now so shocked that the fossil fuel industry is making record profits.
Maybe we shouldn’t have demanded that the Belgian government spent a shit ton of money subsidizing them.
Never waste a good crisis!
I don’t know why you guys are worried, all this money is about to start trickling down any minute now.
Natural gas is green, isn’t it?

These headlines are quite misleading in my opinion. Yes oil company profits are record high, but the “record” part is exagerated by comparing to covid years (when profits were at record lows). Compared to regular years and adjusted for inflation, profit are high but not crazy at all.
This matters because many believe Western oil companies are massively profiting from high base resource prices, whereas it’s the Russian and Saudi state owned companies that really profit. E.g. look up Saudi Aramco.
Kunstmatige “crisis”
Inflation is fabricated.
