Switzerland has currently the 4th highest covid case incidence in the world (and could actually already be first)

  1. Somebody at LeTemps apparently decided that Andorra, Liechtenstein and San Marino are no real countries… Also considering the trajectory of some countries with numbers just below the Swiss (UK, Eswatini, Monaco) I deem it unlikely that they “actually already be first”.

  2. I think the number of cases has lost its meaning since most patients only have mild symptoms. If you look at the death and hospitalization, it’s actually better than last year.

  3. Well, if the people suffer, it’s more likely that in a future referendum, mandatory vaccination for the entire population will pass as yes. So unfortunately, the death of people now will prevent future deaths.

  4. This is because a lot of other countries do not do nearly as much testing as Switzerland. This statistics is pretty much useless

  5. switzerland also has no data about how many vaccinated got infected or how many vaccinated are in ICU.

what exactly is the point of this post?

you want to point out that this could be related to the vaccine rate? check portugal and denmark/norway to see that this doesnt change anything.
