Where Europeans lay claims to neighbouring countries

  1. 1 in 4 Dutch want a claim on a neighboring country? I’ve never met one, so hard for me to image this number is correct.
Also, if this is about Belgium, I doubt enough people even realize we were in the same kingdom, for about 15 years.

  2. Swede here. I won’t rest until Finland is part of us or we are part of Finland- we were made to be together one way or another!

  3. We will retake West England

The French Version of “me” is asking if Algeria is considered neighboring.

    (Also I am kidding, dw)

  4. Lithuania is strange here.

It can’t be Latvians lands as Baltics are pretty cool with each other.

Belarusian are too niche theory for masses to even consider (would get like only ~2-5%).

Poland could consider Vilnius region to themself but not otherwise.

The left is ruzzian part, but historically those lands were already offered to us and declined two times as the a major population was ethnic Russians which would destabilize the country. Furthermore, the German probably have more rights on it.

Unless there is some other distribution I’m not aware 30% seems strange.

Edit: And aren’t Estonia have some conflict with ruzzian borders?

  5. For Turkey, it’s Mosul, Kirkuk, Arbil and Batumi. People are still salty about Batumi, supposedly lost for nothing.

  6. I find it hard to believe 23% believe Ireland, in its full, should rejoin the Union. And Ireland is Britian’s only neighbour that is known, as I doubt a few rocks in the Atlantic would actually be considered.

  7. As a Turk I must confess: All of our land is stolen from Romans, Greeks, Armenians, Kurds…

Funny enough, our genetics consist mostly of the blood of Romans, Greeks, Armenians, Kurds…

  8. Shouldn’t you add Slovenia? I have a Slovenian buddy who picked me up at the train station in Trieste years ago. I asked him “So, what’s Trieste all about? Seems like a decent sized port city?” His response was “Eh. It used to belong to Slovenia, but Italy took it from us.” I kept silent. That was a rabbit hole I was not ready to investigate.

  9. Austria is missing. There are people that think that South Tyrol (part if northern Italy) belongs to Tyrol as apart of Austria.

  10. This makes no sense.

If 46% of Slovaks felt that way, I feel like I’d know. I am completely unaware of any territorial claims anyone might have. At 46%, you’d think they’d be part of the mainstream conversation, but nope. Not a clue.

This must be one of those surveys that was mistranslated when done in Slovakia.
