Fair play, usually these campaigns are crap but the template email you’ve put together is genuinely really good – sets out a problem and gives solutions linked to an Oireachtas Committee report.
It’s a great time to send these out too, there is some attention on this issue and views are clearly starting to change. A load of emails from constituents will give another data point for TDs to change their views.
Thanks for doing this, it’s activists who ultimately make change possible.

Post the “mental health”/”crime”/”not right now” boiler plate bullshit they return to you.
I never did before but this made it so easy that I had to send one to all my local TDs, I personally know so many people who have used it as an alternative to opiates when they had cancer and seen how much it improved their quality of life in their last few years/months/days that it’s just a no brainer.
Fuck opiates and all the shitty side effects that come with them.
Fair ple on the initiave. You need to put some individuality into these emails. Generic emails sent to TDs and Senators are quickly flagged and often sent to spam folders of late.
Also, do not email TDs that are not in your constituency. Nothing turns them off quicker than generic emails from non voters.
When you do email include your address so they know you vote there. Then follow up with a call to seek a response.
4 or 5 constituents doing that is worth 50 people firing in a generic email.
No but I’d be tempted to tell them they’ll lose my vote if they change the legislation.

Cannot stand the smell of weed.
So living in Canada where it is 100% legal for recreatiomal use, I can honestly tell you now after several years, nobody cares and it is no longer a big deal.
Coming up to legalisation people were losing their fecking minds. Now I see a gran pop into the local dispensary to grab something that can help her sleep and nobody bats an eye.
Down the end of my street we have a coffee shop, cannabis shop, liquor store and pizza take away. It’s bloody brilliant. I grab some beer, 3g of weed and a pizza after work on Friday. Makes for a lovely evening😁
