5. Man, I don’t like where this is going we’re basically at war with Russia now in all aspects except on paper, this situation is worse than the cold war

8. Ballsy move. I’d personally go to war over that kind of money. And needless to say, I probably wouldn’t be able to afford the price of human rights at that point.

   Good thing the Russians are more measured than I.

Of course, moves like this are exactly why the developing world has lit a fire under their ass to create alternative systems to the petrodollar/euro, as it shows that their own foreign reserves could be held hostage all the same. Then again, foresight and long-term thought are rather incompatible with our western governments.

10. Meanwhile we have a ban on imported gas from Russia, but still are importing uranium from them.
