Do you personally support the creation of a federal United States of Europe?

  1. Lmao, no. I dont even support us introducing the euro. Only 20% of Swedes want the euro so we’re still a long way from adopting it if we ever do.

Edit: Damn all the eurofederalists got mad and downvoting already. Dudes cant accept a opinion different from their own.

  2. It’s the only viable option to keep Europe relevant on the world stage in the decades to come, so yes, absolutely.

  3. In the distant future – perhaps. Right now we are too different culturally and too nationalist (applies even to the least nationalist). Can’t see it working for now.

  4. Love y’all, but right now with all the differences with in Europe, it probably be a nightmare and I don’t think any goverment would be seriously interested

  5. I don’t know. Would it resolve the infighting between nations? Looking at the USA, we can see states competing to attract businesses.

  6. No.

Expanding the union to all of Europe as well as a union with other nations of the free and developed world in similar fashion as the EU is of higher priority and more doable.

  7. Can someone explain why that would be a good thing? what advantages would that bring that the European Union cannot?

  8. I don’t know, I’m not an expert.

But I personally think it would have to start small with countries like the Benelux and the Baltic states forming small federal unions themselves before one large European wide country could form.

  9. Yes, if there are sufficiently strong laws and directives in place to expose and fight corruption, because it would create even more powerful positions for people who might willingly or unwillingly be used by outside powers.

  10. I dont understand why anybody who thought this out would want this. For real, im pro eu and i would fucking riot if my goverment would try to implement this.

And i dont think anybody should want this. You want people who dont understand your region and culture to have make critical decisions effecting your region and culture.

My own province already gets put on the backseat by my own goverment because we suck at lobbying. But atleast in my own country we have some influence. In a federal european state that influences only gets less and less.

Basicly less of the taxes i would pay would go to the development and upkeep om my own region.

  11. No because European countries have different history, culture and problems so combining all of them will make an even bigger problem to the nation itself (in my opinion)
