According to Demetriou Turkey accepted the help of the RoC. He mentioned that at first the help was rejected possibly because they needed heavy type rescue teams but they now need light type (which is what the RoC has to offer) so they agreed
Glad to see this, compassion and humanity being universal
Good. I’m glad that the Turkish govt came to senses.
Finally it is happening. It has been 50+ hours, chances of finding people alive is getting lower but hopefully they will rescue some people.
Godspeed.
Good news – I hope they are able to help save lives 🙏🏼
Good I hope they can get there asap and help
What I find more worrying than that that initial refusal from the official Turkey is the lack of cooperation/coordination within Cyprus. The most logical thing would have been that ROC team just joined the 150 volunteers from North Cyprus that went to Turkey to find the Turkish Cypriot youth sports team. They went by ferry with the advantage for transport of material and vehicles.
Thank you all, Cypriot friends.
Politics be damned when people are hurting. I hope every single emergency worker helps no matter where they’re from.
Why spent more money on constructing stable buildings when you can spend billions supporting a 50yr long ccupation force?
