I think I disagree with 95% of what Chris Janssens says, but I have to admit he has guts.
I’m really curious how his party members and general voters will react.
On the one hand now they have their white rabbit to show they aren’t homophobes. On the other hand, they have some real homophobes running around over there.
Good for him, I hope he’s happier now he doesn’t have to hide it any more.

Wie met hem een relatie begint zal dus ook nooit kunnen verwijzen naar hem als zijnde “partner” in het openbaar zelfs. Daar gaan ze op de dienst burgerlijke stand, de belastingsdienst enzovoort niet mee kunnen lachen als je gaat samenwonen. “Zijn jullie getrouwd?” – “DAT IS PRIVE!” – “Feitelijk samenwonen it is then” om nadien te klagen “dat ze niet gelijk behandeld worden als andere samenwonenden of koppels en dus niet dezelfde rechten krijgen”.

In de Community staan LGBT’ers met dat gedrag al bekend als “pick me”-gays en daar wordt terecht op neergekeken. Het is de schaamteloze uiting van geïnternaliseerde homofobie. Hij is niets meer dan ondankbaar en een verrader voor de mensen die hem het recht hebben gegeven en het milieu hebben gecreëerd om zichzelf te zijn.

“I don’t want to make this a political issue” the politician said outing himself in the national press. Way to represent the voters of a self proclaimed “identitarian” party if you won’t even represent your own identity.
He could have said “I am gay and so are a significant part of my voters. I want to represent everyone of them in the best way I can. Because it’s too easy to say that sexual orientation doesn’t matter when we mean it should not matter, but we know it still does, and that is where there is work to do. And since I am in a position to do this work, I will”.
That would have been gutsy. This is just “I ll out myself before someone else does”.
