DE -> CH 🚘 do I need the Austrian vignette (exit at Altach)?

    “there are exception to the compulsory vignette usage: the toll road A 14 Rheintal/Walgau Autobahn between the national border at Hörbranz and the Hohenems junction”
    However I’m not sure which point exactly in Hohenems they mean

  3. No, if you take the shown way but enter Switzerland from Hohenems to Diepoldsau. This part of Autobahn is free. But if you will cross the border later, you will use the not-free part of Autobahn and will need the vignette or might get a fine if you don’t have one.

  4. No, you don’t, if you have Swiss vignette. There is now a regulation for especially this short stretch. You can stop near the border and check in Austria-vignette automat, they precisely tell you, if you “step in” and out after/before certain junctions, it’s ok with just Swiss vignette.
