  1. Hope they can keep this up until the next election, will be intersting to see what the likes of the DE & DM have to say? will they, do the usual and smear, or, will they realise the game is up and turn on the tories as not fit for purpose and have let the electorate down, my betting is on the letter as even those shitrags wont want to be on the losing side

  2. It is a pity, in some ways, because it means that there is absolutely no chance that the Conservatives will call an early election. They will take it up to the last possible day of 24 January 2025.

  3. Flavible projection:

    Lab: 441

    Con: 110

    LDM: 41

    SNP: 32

    Plaid: 3

    GRN: 1

    NI: 18

    Result: Labour majority

  4. I’m really hoping that the Tories stay down but Labour start losing ground to Lib Dems and Greens, however.

I fear that Labour with this kinda majority feel they can just be Tory lite, and get in, and not risk doing anything big to improve things, if that happens, I see the Tories back in by 2030.

If they had to do deals or even a coalition to the left of where they are, we might actually see some progressive change, not just tinkering around the edges.

EDIT: also, the chance to see FPTP ended is non existent if Labour get a massive majority and don’t need support from elsewhere.

  5. A Labour landslide. Not because Labour are doing anything well, they’re just not Tories.

    How depressing.

  6. lets face it, if labour actually had someone people really wanted to lead and who would do the country good, it would be an even bigger lead…even 50% is embarrassing with how bad the Tories have been the last few years…should be making yourself heard, showing that you stand with the people of this country

  7. This type of news can lead to suppressing votes. Some people will see this and think “oh I don’t need to vote as Labour are well ahead already”. So they don’t go and erodes a lead. Saw this on narcos so might not be a real thing but again it might be

  8. It’s amazing that one in four people are either rich enough that the tories bullshit doesn’t affect them or dumb enough that they blame anyone else.

I hate Starmer’s Labour and it doesn’t reflect my views, but I’ll vote for his milquetoast bullshit in a heartbeat if it means getting rid of the tories.

  9. 50% Labour… yeah I’ll believe it when it happens and not a moment before, thanks all the same.

Question is will they actually do something useful when slash if they get in?

Next question is will the general public have the patience and forethought to vote them in the time after that? Cos this shit we’re in ain’t getting fixed in one voting cycle…

  10. 35% of people don’t bother to vote. There is good reason to believe that they would be more likely to vote Labour if they did vote.

If 100% of people voted we would never have had a Tory government in the first place.

But given that they probably won’t vote next time either, and accounting for shy Tories, media bias, and Labour having some kind of PR disaster in between now an then, we aren’t out of the woods yet.

Next time you get a chance, get out and vote. No excuses.

  11. Ok vote Labour back in, and in 10 years time moan about them and vote Conservative back in. We need a new working class party not Rich people running the country. Unfortunately there’s no sign of that happening. I’m glad I’m 52, God knows what it will be like for the younger generations to come.

  12. By 2024 the tories will have finished overhauling the voting system so labour and lib dem voters.won’t be able to.cast a ballot

  13. Which is why the Tories are trying their hardest to empty the coffers, burn down the NHS, and sell off by stealth as much as they can before being voted out. They are the Cons

  14. Its like a little ray of sunshine in an otherwise shit world.

Until the actual General Election and everyone votes Tory again.
