Pretty far out in the timeline, always amazed by human perseverance!
How everyone comes together and help just makes Turkey look stupid after years of bullshit in the diplomatic arena. I really hope this ruins Erdogan narrative.
Anyway, I am glad seeing the world come together like this.
It feels wrong to be thinking and saying this, but I’m even happier that it was Armenian rescuers involved.
In the late ’90s, there was a pair of earthquakes in Turkey and Greece that brought about some rapprochement between them, due to mutual assistance offered, and people realizing that they were just similar people on the other side of the border.
I just hope that this earthquake similarly breaks through human pig-headedness. The world seems to be becoming a tinderbox, and man, do we need to give and receive some goodness instead.
