But damn. I remember when a decade ago, when you paid about above 200 PLN, you could fill the whole shopping trolley.
I can’t remember if this has been said before.
Most of us live in Poland and know what shopping looks like.
that’s a lot of premade garbage food.
If you want to save money, buy less processed shit + ready meals.
(if you don’t want advice on your shopping basket, don’t post it!)
Thse ready meals are probably around 60 by themselves for that you can make yourself more
Too many Vifons for my taste but overall pretty good. Some cuts could have been made on pre-made food but its a personal preference.
For 200 PLN I can get my fridge full, but I don’t buy premade food. Try cooking by yourself and you’ll see the difference. In money and health.
General tip, shittier processed foods are taxed more.
I know our wages are higher, but this would likely be about $200USD, which is significantly more than the wage gap. Also, you Poles eat much, much better than us if this is a batch of groceries worth chastising. 🤣
Auchan did not move out from Russia after invasion on Ukraine, so many people do shopping there now so they reduced prices to tempt people with a low budgets. Dont’t shop there unless you support the war.
I can see you are not from Poland, hence so many ready to go meals.
Yo since you are from US, do you buy actual bread sometimes or only chleb tostowy? I know that in America it’s a deafult bread, but in Poland, even in supermarkets chains and obviously bakeries there is actual freshly baked bread being sold at good price. Just asking, Auchan is an expetion where there is quite poor choice of bread to be honest so I get why didn’t you bring it this time.
As an Auchan employee, can confirm
Man, if you want to I can recommend some recipes for simple and cheap soups, so you don’t have to buy this amount of the “Soup of China” xD
I spent about 215 pln today and got way more food plus a bottle of wine and a beer. The ready made meals are whats killing you man.
And its food for me and wife for the whole week.
But yeah we both cook all of our food every day, takes more time but way cheaper
Just came to say that I didn’t know that Danio changed their packaging style. Fascinating
Ouch, not a lot of veggies, mostly ready meals. Maybe take your 194pln and invest in a cook book?
Why so many soups of china?
OP, on God, please tell me this toast bread is for making toasts and you aren’t substituting real bread with it. Please. I can understand the ready-made meals, I’m a busy working student, I can excuse an occasional “chinese soup” (instand noodles), but, on God –
**Edit.** No, seriously, you’re currently in one of countries with highest bread quality in the EU, take advantage of it, and release yourself from your – I’m assuming – American bread PTSD.
Also, do you speak Polish at all? There’s a few cool youtube cooking channels that make affordable and fun food that’s realistic in terms of living in Poland, including in small flats with barebones kitchens. I love my Joshua Weissman as much as the next guy, but I do wilt every time I hear the words “you can buy it at your local Asian market”.
Too many expensive brands here. Fake danio is just as good in taste. Cheaper cheese out there. Premade food is just expensive garbage. And so on.
You used to get about double that 4 years ago.
That’s why I always shoplift at least 50% of all my Auchan purchases
Aren’t pre made meals like 40% of the cost?
You have 194 PLN?!!!
Not the paw patrol cereal it tastes awful
#nabogato
Supporting Putin… 😏
Auchan, Leroy Merlin, Decathlon…
mlekovita, oryginalne danio, hortex…. powodzi się, widzę!
People talk a lot of shit in comments. In fact that’s terrible true image of shopping in Poland right now. Products that OP has chosen are not even the most expensive ones.
Just think about the fact that the cheapest sliced cheese is around 7 PLN and in 2020 it was around 3,5PLN. Cheers

One word: Inflation.
