Food for thought (also google translation is kinda funny)

  1. My attempt of translating.

    >Tell me. Let’s say NCh becomes president. With whom will he rule? With DIKO? Or with EDEK, where 4 of em are coming to play pilotta? How will bills be passed if AKEL and DISY are in opposition?

  2. Learning Greek and google translate is almost completely useless for anything written by a regular person.

Newpapers etc are ok but Twitter? I have to get my BF to translate most of the time.

    Why is it SO BAD?

And I found the answer to my own question – [“The machine can’t translate informal social media posts very well if
it’s been trained only on formal legal documents. Translation tools are
already scraping the bottom of the parallel corpus barrel: In many
languages, the largest parallel translated text is the Bible, which
leads to peculiar circumstances where Google translates nonsense
    syllables into prophecies of doom.”](https://www.wired.com/story/google-translate-wikipedia-siri-widely-spoken-languages-cant-translate/)

  3. Upvote for the funny translation. I think we need a whole new subreddit just with botched translation of the Cypriot dialect.

  4. What is funny is how clueless the people who write (and re-produce) those nonsense are.

The party which supports Mavroyiannis, AKEL, has 15 seats in the parliament. The parties that support Christodoulides (DIKO + EDEK + DIPA) have 9 + 4 + 4 = 17 seats.
