Just fyi. I always declare things straight through tulli their website. You literally fill in the exact same information but you don’t have to pay posti’s so called handling fee. It’s only 90 cents but it pissed me off that you have to pay that when they still require the same info. It’s just for the privilege of doing it through their app.
It’s good to know that finnish Posti is very very famous for regularly losing items or letters for weeks in their warehouses. Never order anything time critical through Posti, use other courier services instead

Not a single home delivery, only announcements of “tried to deliver” and then you get to travel several kilometers to the delivery point.

Depending where you live, the multiple ‘registered’ lines are the item passing through each sorting location. You’ll have the main Vantaa airport sorting, then the major regional hub, then municipal hub, then possibly local hub.

How to get it faster is to call everyday and send them the tulli declaration papers immediately when you get them. And insist on why your package isn’t moving already. If enough people do this, eventually they’ll realize it’ll be less money to make the service work than answering phone calls.
Or they’ll just end the phone service idk…

Yes. Posti is notoriously famous for being late. And then there’s another famous institute that is Finnish Customs. My last package from US sat there for over a week before they even sent me a notification that it needs to be declared.
Posti is a motherfucker. Choose any other delivery method when possible.
Posti is definitely one of those things that has been absolute dogshit for years and only gone for worse.
It’s common. I’ve had customs clearance and delivery in a couple of days. Other times, it’s taken up to a week.
You’ll probably receive a notification on Monday that it’s out for delivery or that you need to confirm a suitable time. If you don’t hear anything by Tuesday, I’d give them a call.

Without knowing where you live, it’s impossible to say how many sorting stages it needs to pass through, and these might have delays depending on the local Posti activities. Knowledge is power!

My friend ordered a costume from Netherlands. The package’s trip from there to Finland took two days. Now it has been in shipping with posti for the last nine days. I think that concludes everything…
