Putting aside the lenient sentence, will the victim have to claim lost earnings through a different process?
Permanent life changing injuries that could have killed him and this fucker gets barely a naughty step. Attacking people with your vehicle needs to be reviewed, you can literally kill someone with your car and be allowed to drive again. How is driving a car not a privilege when citizenship apparently is.
If anyone’s wondering you can pick up a replacement wing mirror for a freelander for about £100-£200.
This guy is in prison, and has potentially ruined the victims life over a few scratches to £100.
That’s assuming it needed replacing, they stopped making Freelanders in 2014 so it’s atleast that old, so could have been scratched anyway.
I feel like a person like that should never be release. How is he not a danger to society?

Not justifying the drivers behaviour but sounds to me like the cyclists actions were what caused the incident. Damaged drivers car through having to take avoiding action from a bin lorry (they never stop unexpectedly) then takes off and when confronted proceeds to spit on the drivers car. Not exactly covering himself in glory. Don’t think i would be responding favourably as the driver in a similar situation. Would like to think I wouldn’t have tried to kill him though. Cyclist sounds like a piece of work as well is my point.
Remember, if you’re gonna kill someone, do it with a car.
Not agreeing with the sentence, I think he should have been permanently banned, but the judge will have taken his age in to account. After 18 months in jail (to be fair the stress could knock him off his perch) and at the end of a 3 year ban, he’ll be almost in his 80’s. He’ll be pretty much too old to drive, and he’ll only have a few years left to stew over what he did.
I dont condone this but, cyclists and scooter riders are becoming nightmares for pedestrian. I was nearly ran over twice in a minute by cyclists going through a zebra crossing, whilst I was walking on it. Also scooters and cyclists on the pavement, riding up behind you and shitting the life out of you as, they go flying by. If you’re on a bike and you piss of the wrong driver, this could happen to any of us. Just remember car beats bike in a fight.
I had many arguments with cyclists for leaning on my lorries wheel at lights or holding on to the back for a ride. This is a two way street but, car will win everytime in fight. If you’re on a bike and get into an argument with a driver. Get on the pavement and argue with them from a safe position. Dont bang the car or spit on it. That would make anyone mad and potentially do something bad. If someone spat on my car, I would just get out and wipe it of with their face.
This is why I wait for the cagers to get out when they’re having a tantrum, that way I can just punch them in the face and cycle off.
