Currently off to Switzerland for a mini vacation. Went by train from Austria, and as soon as we cross the Liechtenstein border into Switzerland, eir let’s me know that roaming in Switzerland is €5110 per GB unless you buy an add on. Pure daylight robbery

In Serbia it was 7e per mb and I got caught out by a background app doing something while near the border.
I think some networks include Switzerland, I had my standard plan when I was there

Your daily remainder of just how much shit we *don’t* have to put up with as members of the EU.
All of the networks in the UK have started steadily raising their rates and their roaming charges also.
We bought a sim, unlimited data for a month for €30 in Switzerland. Might be an option for you depending in how long you are there. My wife used the sim and I tethered off it on my phone.
Depending on whether your phone allows it you can download an eSim for data usage from places like [here](https://www.airalo.com/switzerland-esim)
That’s beyond extortionate. For comparison, three charges €0.22 per MB in Switzerland. Still pricey, but it’s 25 times cheaper than what you’re being quoted.
Vodafone let’s you use your normal plan in Switzerland.
switzerland is on another plane of existence when it comes to wealth
At least the disabled roaming and make you opt in to the high rates first
Reminder to any maniac that advocates life outside the EU.
In what world is this feasible. It’s comical just knowing the charges these companies dish out. And what customer would turn around and pay 5,000 euro for a GB?
Switzerland isn’t in eu, so no eu roaming charges. I had the same issue with 3, and I’m sure all providers will be the same. International roaming without data packs is always crazy.
You can search for an esim online and buy and download it. That’s what I did for my trip last summer.
