Hungarian FM Szijjártó visiting his Belarusian counterpart in Minsk. Totally unrelated: A Russian delegation also arriving to Minsk at the same time.

  1. So again, why is the EU still tolerating Hungary aka Orban’s little Putin puppet autocracy in the Union instead of sanctioning the shit out of them/kicking them out?

  2. > Hungary is reliant on Russian gas and oil, and has a contract with Rosatom for a nuclear power plant.

Being energy bitches can be a bitch.

  3. It should be noted that even the Ukrainian authorities try to have contacts with official Minsk. At the same time, Kiev reportedly blocks the participation of Tikhanovskaya (exiled candidate for the presidency of Belarus) in various European events.

Mikhail Podolyak, advisor to the head of the presidential office: “As for the Belarusian opposition, it seems to me that today they need to determine who they really can influence the Belarusian society, and then we will already consider the possibility of a meeting. On the other hand, we see Lukashenko’s understanding of how this war is developing.”

  4. I imagine Russian delegates run in Minsk every other day, Belarus being a puppet state of Russia. It would actually suprise me, if there weren’t a Russian military attachés and diplomats all the time.

So yeah, trying to tie these events together, like the title suggests, is a bit far fetched. Or it could even be a rumor released by the Russians. And everybody here hates Hungary, just like Russians want to, break the unity of the Europeans.

  5. Regarding hungarian economic data they need that trip for domestic media to show Orbans fans that he‘s fighting for his country and inflation is to blame on the EU rather than irrational politics
