This case is pretty baffling and I don’t have any useful or worthwhile speculation so I just hope there is some sort of closure for the family and Nicola.
It’s not baffling. She was kidnapped.
No one leaves their cell phone on a bench while walking the dog. She probably would not have even stopped on a normal walk.

Couldn’t the police model the potential drift of a drowning victim with a molded Dummy weighted as she might be and dressed in similar clothing?
The hype over this is so manufactured. She likely ended up in the river one way or another whether intentional or accidental. It’s tragic of course, as any death is but so much attention given to one when thousands a day die or go missing is stupid.
The media and ‘True Crime’ community whipping up a storm seems like a desperate attempt to make this the next Gabby Petito type thing. It’s a sad ending to what could have otherwise been a beautiful life but that happens everyday and doesn’t get the 24hr coverage this does.
Like a lot of unsolved mysteries (see Somerton Man, Elisa Lam and that dude that jumped off the hotel in Baltimore) the truth will likely be banal.
I’m a little uncomfortable with how much press coverage this Peter Faulding has been getting. I don’t think these sorts of comments help the case, only add to the confusion. I appreciate the media asking questions but I doubt Nicola’s family appreciates the speculation. Just my opinion.

It’s pointless speculating about what happened but I reckon the harness and dog lead laying there is significant, she could have been walking her dog on it’s lead and the dog is playing with it’s ball, they’re getting close to the rivers edge and the dog accidentally drops the ball, it hits something and rolls into the river, at this point the dog is going crackers, it’s my favourite ball he’s thinking, so Nicola takes his lead and harness off as she needs to lean over the bank and doesn’t want the dog getting tangled up, and she leans too far and goes in, it’s a fast flowing tidal river so before long she’s swept out to sea.
Ironic that the police are telling everyone not to speculate and yet every interview is their latest pet theory.
Hopefully this doesn’t involve *another* police officer 🙄
Yeah she’s probably at least in the Morecambe Bay by now!
The only thing baffling to me about this case is everyone seems to think there is an innocent explanation, like falling in to the river. I have no theories but the one thing I will say is she definitely didn’t just vanish into thin air on her own.
I don’t get why if you don’t think she fell Reddit accuses you of being mean to her family tbh.
If the dive expert doesn’t think she fell then I think he’s the expert in that field and his opinion is valid .
Urgh genuinly wish this guy would have done his job and shut up and not spoken to the press he’s stoking the Facebook miss Marples and conspiracy theorist wackos.
