DWP: £1,350 cost of living payment dates and eligibility

  1. The headline is misleading. The article feels like state propaganda / stenography.

Truth is, the DWP has botched the £900 payments. The staggered £300 payments in truth are not going to make much of a difference. By the time many homes get the payments, inflation will have risen again negating the worth & value of the money. Food inflation is around 16% at the moment and climbing.

The Tories are useless. They cant do anything right.

  2. There is no “dates” here this is simply a copy/paste of information directly accessible from the gov.uk site with some waffle thrown in to pad it out.

  3. So first payment sometime in Spring –
    March? April? May?

Don’t they realise folks on the breadline, juggling heating with eating, robbing peter to pay paul etc., could really do with something more precise?

  4. Why can’t they just force a cap on fuel costs so everyone can get some reprieve, and the money is taken from profits not public money.

While I understand some families need help my worry is the length of time we will be under higher taxes to pay it all back.

And how long will the fuel companies keep their prices inflated to fleece more money from the UK.

  5. They give people the money and it goes right into the back pocket of the private landlords, the mortgage lenders and the share holders of the energy companies. They might as well just stand outside the houses of parlament and give giant cheques directly to them instead of getting the general public involved.
