Bertie walking out of an interview when questioned about his untruthful responses to the sources of substantial sums of money.

  1. The best part about this is they had let him know before hand that they planned on asking these questions. He’s such a hack he didn’t even bother to prepare.

  2. Shit bag.

He greeses the right pams, with the right info and knows enough people in enough places to cover his back.

  3. Former Minister of Finance and he didn’t have a bank account. Asides from the great work on the North, he should not be taken seriously by anyone. That old guard of FF are basically a bunch of criminals in suits.

  4. Fianna Fáil getting back into what they really care about: corruption at the highest levels of government, perpetuated and sanitised by somebody who’s ‘one of the punters’ and ‘not the worst of them’.

  5. I’m glad more people get to see this. You can tell he’s lying but i love watching him squirm.

  6. DW have some very talented people working for them, have seen some great pieces by others under their umbrella.

On another note, he nearly let the mask slip, looked like he wanted to belt yer man.

  7. What kind of country are we that this absolute gobshite is being considered by our political elites to be fit to be a perhaps future president after a bit of whitewashing ?

  8. You’d think after making a fortune off the back of this country and more or less successfully getting away with it, he’d just put his head down and enjoy his life without bothering us again

  9. Minister of finance. The second most powerful position in the land, and he didn’t have a bank account. Were they sliding his money under the door?

  10. Sir, people are starting to forget how FF ruined the country last time, what should we do?

Hold my brown envelope, I got this.

  11. That was brilliant. I enjoyed seeing him seethe about being asked truthful questions. What an utter Sleazeball.

  12. So now that all is forgiven and FF happy to have Bertie back , are we going to start to see the likes of the USC wound down and removed? Seen as every bit of debt placed on the tax payer from the 2007 fallout is now sorted. I assume, LPT, USC and the according levies introduced at the time will now be wound down?

  13. I’m not sure what the f*ck Fianna Fail are thinking by allowing this. The only reason they still exist as a political party is the goldfish-like memory of the Irish electorate, they really should have been consigned to the dustbin of history a long time ago after the monumental clusterphuq of incompetence and corruption they presided over in the noughties.

If there is one politician that will remind people of what Fianna Fail are truly about, then it’s Bertie Ahern. I hope this backfires on both Ahern and Fianna Fail spectacularly.

  14. I love the “the tribunal had its views on that and I’ve already given my evidence to the tribunal and I’m quite happy with that evidence.”

In other words, the special tribunal which has sweeping and extraordinary legal powers to unearth what ever information it deemed relevant, which was set up to investigate the corrupt dealings of you and your government ministers and previous government ministers under your party, and you’re “happy” with the evidence you gave them…

    Right so Bertie…

  15. It’s like when a re-launched TV series is doing badly and they bring back an old character to grasp at nostalgia.

  16. Great to have him back in the fold. He will make a great president.

Better than multi millionaire Miriam O’Callaghan.

  17. The difference between him and the cute hoors of today is that it was so obvious the shit he was up to, bags of cash, no bank account etc. Now, we have sneaky politicians who have their I’ll gotten gains in property, and make the property rules as they go along. Sure look at the shite going on within An Bord Pleanala.

  18. Fianna Fáil minister Conor Lenihan described it as a “very welcome thing”.

I am completely convinced Ireland is run by a mafia style gang of corrupt figures.
