Transport spending: Town and local bus services are the priority, says Eamon Ryan

  1. If they could buy a bit of customer service that would be great. My experience with bus eireann this morning was atrocious.

  2. Ok let’s start delivering on that. Let’s catch up to the rest of Europe. Its possible to survive without a car if the public transport is up to the task.

  3. **”I can’t get to where I’m going by bus so I have to drive!”**
“Here’s a bus to get there”
**”It takes a few minutes longer and doesn’t go from my front door to the front door of where I’m going to!”**
“We’ve adjusted the routes and the frequency, the cars on the road are holding them up, if more people took the bus it would really help”
**”You’re wasting money on buses nobody will take! I love my car, I fart in my car and my car farts out its special fumes that I spend my hard earned money on, you can’t stop me! I mean, I have a sick and disabled and pregnant and elderly person in every other seat of my empty car!”**

  4. My opinion of Eamon Ryan has gone up in recent months. He used to be quite out of touch with people living outside the Dublin area when it comes to transport but recently his focus on the transport across the country has improved. I see a lot more routes going through my town and not just the ones that go straight to Dublin anymore.

I think the next step after this is updating the current rail networks. For me personally, Updating the Rail line that goes from Edgeworths town to mullingar and Enfield and mullingar would help with train times a lot. As each line is ~25-30km in distance it makes it so that trains have to wait for passes quite long.
