Fuck me… anyone entering politics should be playing the long game but outside of by elections if you can’t build up a network and an exit strategy after a minimum of five year’s in the commons you’re probably pretty fucking useless even by backbench libdem MP standards.

This might sound harsh but these people shouldn’t be MPs, that’s something every single person needs to do to get a job, unless it’s a job as an MP of course. Parachute into a safe seat no entry requirements.
So this committee found that there are people running departments, making huge decisions that don’t have basic skills and can’t plan on getting a job. Ffs it just gets worse everyday.

No they should Universal Credit and the same advice as everyone else from the very schemes they create and implement for the population. That means working zero hours, minimum wage if needed.
Performance related pay would be the most interesting. Most MP’s would find themselves financially struggling and queuing at food banks in no time.
So we can’t give the nurses anymore even though we have what 47k vacancies. Can’t provide any additional benefits to them either but we can spend a daft amount on plans to bring in fresh faces to a job which at every election is massively over subscribed ?

MPs are the only unskilled workers in the country. No requirement for the job other than being popular.
If they don’t have skills to find a job after being an MP maybe they shouldn’t have been an MP to start.
One interesting point though, 60% of MP’s go on to earn £84K or more, I wonder just what it is that qualifies them for those sort of salaries?
If that’s the best idea they can come up with it helps explain a few things.
