I asked AI to create Galway as a scene from a Japanese Woodblock Print from the 1800s.

  1. I’ve been trying to teach myself AI tools and the above took about 2 hours of refining to get to what I had in my head and I learned a lot by doing it. These tools are amazing.

  2. Love Japanese Woodblock prints and I always thought to myself it would be interesting to see typical Irish scenes get this treatment, I guess with AI we can get an approximation of that now.

As an aside, can anyone recommend a good webstore for buying Japanese prints?

  3. Honestly lads the OpenAI is crazy good but scary at the same time. It made.one of my training modules for work and the boss man can’t be more happy with it 😂 took me 5min

Most of it takes place in Galway and might amuse you for a ‘Japanese’ Ireland

” story takes place on an island resembling a 22nd-century [Republic of Ireland](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_of_Ireland) (certain scenes are taken directly from [Galway](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galway), a city in the west of Ireland), in a world ruled by “Fractale”, a satellite-based virtual reality and content delivery system which ensures mankind’s stability and prosperity. One day, Clain meets a fleeing girl called Phryne, who disappears during the night leaving a pendant. When he is able to activate the pendant (which turns into a “doppel” named Nessa), Clain sets out on a journey with the girl-shaped avatar Nessa to look for Phryne and discovers the secret behind the Fractale System”

  5. That’s f**king beautiful. There’s just something really satisfying about that style.

Best wishes to the crew of the boat half submerged in the background. I guess even AI knows that nothing truly Irish is ever completely free of tragedy…
