Why is this even news. Sounds like the ban is just some form of racism cloaked as fighting against the oppression of women. I felt the same way about the rules against head coverings in France. Not allowing the women to swim covered up means that they just won’t come swim.
I’m an American and the whole thing is baffling to me
i dont care too much either way at least until i exactly know what those ‘hygene problems’ if its convincing i might be swayed to a ban.
other than that, stop wasting my (and your own and tax payers) time with this nonsense (no matter if it stays banned or is allowed).
Well, if it’s a swimming suit covering the body and hair, why not?!? No one should force you to be half naked.
However, if something covers the face, I’m totally against it… Like I’m against any religion trying to convert others… If I want to be Buddhist, I can do it at home or at the temple, not screaming on a tower.
People can swim with a wetsuit, correct?
A Burkini fits to switzerland as good as a bikini in Islamabad. The root of disguise is the muslim suppression of woman. I can not help it but I just think it looks strange and does not fit our culture.
Does this mean Boxer and Bermuda style swim shorts are fine too? Cause if not that’s some buuuuuullshit. Otherwise yay freedom of choice
Everybody has the right to swim as they see fit in my opinion, but I’m still asking why nudity even is such s taboo and why there must be so much fuss about it…? 🤷🏻♂️
Time for a referendum.
If it can help some people feel better, I’m for it as long as hygiene is respected.
Let them enjoy
People here: Burkinis are a surpressive clothing against women!
The same people: let’s tell these women what they’re allowed to wear and what not to wear!!
This gives women the ‘freedom of choice’ to wear the burkini.
Do the women actually impacted by this also have the freedom of choice to not wear a burkini?
As a man, can I wear a burkini? I am not confortable exposing my body in public.
Crazy mental gymnastics by people pushing for a Burkini ban by using the logic that they don’t like women being controlled of what to wear.
I’m not in favour of religion in general but some of you are idiots in this thread and it shows.
So men can now wear one too? That’s good news.
So latin.
not sure whether to be happy about inclusivity or sad about opressing women
It’s good for business, as people buy more clothing, since a burkini means more textile than a simple bikini;
The law project doesn’t mention “burkini” or any other religious Anzug.
Let me ask : Why the title of this “breaking news” mention that ?
I’m against because women have to stay at home doing the housework instead of whoring around at the swimming pool.
Secular state, otherwise I want to go with a cassock and get into the pool!
Ok
As with everything else… We start by accepting their different ways, then they start complaining of our ways, then they impose their ways….
Has been like that with everything else, won’t be different here.
I don’t think we should care how covered women should be. But this is part of a campaign from Socialists who want to polarize our societies to win elections.
They have launched several attacks against our society in order to destabilize it:
– They have asked to change the Geneva traditional anthem.
– They have supported censorship at the Geneva University
– They have asked schools to add a prayer room (why??)
– They wish Switzerland to enter the EU. Almost all countries want to leave the failed EU system that they have seen evolve in the last decades
The Socialists wish to transform our society into a ideological nightmare. None of their decisions make rational sense. All they want is to win enough points from several demographics to be on a position of power, not caring about the consequences of their decisions.
Most Badis do not allow men to wear boxers under bathing shorts.

– They have repeatedly asked to host more refugees while we struggle to host and integrate them. 55’000 unauthorized refugees have come last year, making the total 100’000 https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.rts.ch/info/suisse/13716145-les-entrees-irregulieres-en-suisse-ont-presque-triple-en-2022.html
