Notorious prisoner Charles Bronson facing public Parole Board hearing next month

  1. I guess a lot will depend on what the board think of the 2018 incident. Court went with not guilty but I don’t think the board is limited by reasonable doubt.

  2. I mean the entire reason he’s in prison is because of what he’s done inside prison so surely the risk posed to the public is limited because of that

  3. At this point I can’t really see the point of locking him up unless he’s gonna stap or shoot someone (a definite possibility) he’s not much harm to anyone at 70. He’ll probably die sooner outside of prison from the stress of an environment change after so long.

I know some people don’t want him to become famous or lionised for his crimes, but the worst that’ll come from that is he’ll have a bit of money for a few years then he’ll die and his kids will have a bit of money hardly the end of the world.

  4. I can’t see him coping with being released if it was ever a possibility given how institutionalised he is, and just how far the world has moved ahead while he’s been locked up.

  5. Problem with releasing him is that the media will follow him round reporting on everything he does and hoping to get a sensationalist story, the guy wont have a chance at a normal life

  6. So many who lack empathy in here, who can’t seem to grasp perhaps prison wasn’t good for him, he couldn’t handle it and he reacted again and again. No one has any idea what his treatment was like inside.

  7. Some of the worst crimes have seen less time been released given new ids and lives.

He’s killed no one raped no one.

I don’t know when enough is enough at this stage he’s in his 70s

It’s all about stopping him being a celebrity not that he’s a clear danger to the uk public

If he reoffends then he goes back like everyone else

  8. As it is a public hearing I will be very interested to see the man. He’s by all accounts very very intelligent so I do wonder what we’ll see of him.

  9. He had a fucking heartbreaking start in life and he’s deeply fucked and has fucked up so many lives along the way. The media will hound him and he won’t know how to use an iPhone or contactless payment. If he gets out he’ll have book deals and interviews and no money to show for it and he’ll still be a massive burden to the state due to all the health care and security

  10. I’m genuinely shocked at the stupidity of people who think being 70 means you’re no longer a threat. Probably the same people who think you can’t be a threat since you’re under 18.

  11. Personally i think he deserves a chance of freedom.
Plus a lot of support given the nature of his extended time inside.
    In reality neither will happen.
