I can’t stand that gormless confused pigeon look she has.
I suspect this is far from the only thing she doesn’t understand…
>The ex-PM admitted she “didn’t know the existence of LDIs – which turned out to be the main problem”. She said Mr Kwarteng “wasn’t informed of this either” – claiming that they may have even delayed their radical mini-Budget had they understood the problem.
“In our defence we were *very* incompetent.”
Please just stop giving her “air time” unless it’s reporting on her prosecution and the very lengthy prison sentence she will be facing. Everything else is as interesting as the air in her “airhead”.
Wild to think Liz cost the UK£30bn but will receive over £100k per yr for the rest of her life for her troubles
So…. her defence is, we decided to make an economic policy without understanding the current economic structures….
Can you imagine if that was labour’s defence for anything? The daily heil would be screaming about incompetence and “You can’t trust them with the economy!!!!”
It’s on the same level as that video clip of the girl saying she doesn’t understand why people are homeless, they should just buy a house…
As badly as this reflects on her, it also reflects badly on those who supported her. I don’t mean those who knew she would make a great government puppet, I mean the ordinary people who thought that she would be a good PM. She won because of the public vote and there are tens of thousands of people who looked at Truss, heard her speak and said “She is the one to run the country.” You can say a lot about Sunak but at least he has a good understanding of how the economy works, which is something you definitely need in a Prime Minister.
It’s really surprising that seemingly every front bencher or minister, ext minister or PM are all in denial because they know they are going to lose their seats.
What else didn’t she understand? How to work the toaster? How a door handle works…
Small pension with Scottish widow from a previous employer
just been sitting there for last 30 years
July 2021 worth £55000
July 2022 worth £60300
30th Dec 2022 £32053
That Liz the feking lettuce for you
Would someone be willing to explain these LDI and ‘tinderbox’ concepts to me?
LDI sounds like something invented to get around (presumably post-2008) risk regulations or legislation; to make pension pots more profitable again. At the risk of market fluctuations (spooked by batshit unelected amateur antics) having a disproportionately large impact due to LDI’s inherent need for market stability?
Is it as dodgy as CDOs were?
Will it be happening on my current pension? (How can I tell?)
Who does it?
Etc
Maybe just a blonde moment? We all have our moments…
Liz Truss admits she didn’t understand ~~tinderbox’ pension problem prior to mini-Budget disaster~~
Why would anyone be remotely interested in her thoughts on anything?
Incompetent politician from a party full of incompetent politicians admits their incompetence. Shocker.
If only there had been an Office for Budget Responsibility, who could have looked at there budget and warned them of issues like this!
Right, since she’s announced her losing her job wasn’t her fault, she’s come out and said she didn’t understand a lot of the job she’s apparently always wanted. This woman will never hold anything more than a back bench seat no matter what party she serves, and the quicker she realises that, the happier a lot of people will be
She only knows what donors tell her to think, which is usually at odds with being correct.
> Liz Truss has ruled out any chance of reaching No 10 again
I’ve also ruled out winning the 2023 Formula 1 Drivers Championship
As much as I though she was a turnip, the most concerning part of her premiership was it exposing how shaky the UK economy is. The 45p rate raises £2 billion a year, sounds like a lot but in gov revenue estimates it’s not a huge figure.
I recognise there’s a lot of symbolism behind the rate and the media rollout was awful, but should removing this tax rate really have been enough to nearly collapse the UK pensions market? Doesn’t suggest a lot of resilience in the UK markets to absorb future shocks.
The implications for future governments and policymakers are pretty scary.
Liz Truss – ‘I don’t want to be Prime Minister Again.’
How this Woman is in position of Influence is genuinely scary. One of the worst speakers ever heard. Clueless when put on the spot.
This woman is a criminal and should be in a prison cell.

I tried reading https://redington.co.uk/what-is-liability-driven-investment-ldi/ but it just sounded like bullshit / made up to me…
